CASE 480C Loader Backhoe Hydraulic Cylinder Seal Kit Identification and Application Chart
To obtain the correct seal kit, the cylinder must be identified to determine which type of piston is used in your application. Checking the face of the gland for stamped numbers can make identification to the types given below. Click link to view cylinder images.
SP-type piston. Some cylinders with the split piston did not have numbers stamped on the face of the gland nut and some have a grove machined in the face of the gland. Although if your gland does have a number, stamped in it that starts with G3, or it does not have a number it will be a cylinder with a split (SP) piston type.
OP-type piston. These cylinders are stamped with a number in the face of the gland. If the stamped number starts with G10 it will be a cylinder with a one-piece (OP) piston type.
*Note: Backhoe Stabilizer Cylinder tube bore diameter must be measured for proper identification.
